SILENT AUCTION FUNDRAISER

When Grampa moved into the local care home, it was a big change—especially for someone who’d spent his life on the farm. One of the biggest surprises? The food! After Grandma passed, I visited him regularly during the 11 years he lived there, and every time, he’d rave about the meals. We were shocked—in the best way. It just goes to show that sometimes, even a big change can lead to unexpected happiness. And from his window, he could still see the grain elevator—a comforting link to his roots.

Before COVID, we started a fundraiser to raise $50,000 for a much-needed kitchen renovation at the care home. Last year, we raised $13,000. Chantelle’s Grandma has just moved in, and now it feels even more personal. I promised I’d help again this year, and I’m hopeful we can match—or even exceed—what we raised last time.
